1  Is it easy to apply the numbers to my mailbox?
The complete address number comes as one piece for each side of your mailbox. Clean your mailbox. Position the numbers where you want, and tape them in place. Then remove the backing paper and press the numbers on the surface.

It's like putting on a bumper sticker. But, if you're hesitant about trying it, ask a friend to help.

2  How many numbers can fit on an address panel?
Up to four numbers can be used without making adjustments. Beyond that a slight reduction in the size of the numbers may be needed. If the address number is so long that it changes the design criteria significantly, we will contact you to discuss options.

3  How long will my numbers last?
The best materials are used to give you the best appearance for as long as possible. The vinyl is guarantees by 3M for 5 to 8 years.

Certain conditions will affect the results you experience. Cleaning the mailbox surface prior to application is essential. Extreme environmental conditions such as is found in desert areas or the very coldest sections of the country will affect the useful life. Address numbers with minimal exposure to the sun will do better than expected.

4  Will the numbers work on my wooden mailbox?
The address numbers work very well on wood painted with latex or oil based (alkylid) enamel.

The numbers are not recommended for use with paints used for house siding since these paints tend to chalk as they weather and the residue will wash over the numbers.

The numbers will usually not adhere to stained, salt treated, or unpainted wood.

5  Will the numbers work on my fiberglass mailbox?
The mailbox numbers work extremely well on fiberglass surfaces.

6  Will the numbers work on my plastic mailbox?
Some mailboxes are made of polyethylene or polypropylene such as those from Rubbermaid, (PET or PPE will be marked somewhere on the box).  We do not recommend using our regular numbers on these plastic mailboxes.

If you have a plastic mailbox, consider using one of our aluminum mailbox post signs. Attach them to your mailbox post or to the mailbox itself with small bolts.

7  Can I apply the numbers in cold weather?
The adhesive used is activated by temperature. When the temperature is below 45 F, it may be hard to get the numbers to stick. If possible take your mailbox inside to warm it above 45 F prior to applying the address numbers.

Note that if numbers are applied in cold weather, the adhesive will be fully activated once the temperature warms up, and it will retain it's full strength from then on even though the temperature becomes colder later.
